A Spring Wedding at Villa Le Fontanelle in Florence, Italy

There are few places that feel as effortlessly beautiful in spring as Florence. With its historic architecture, rolling Tuscan hills, and gardens coming to life after winter, it's an incredible setting for couples planning a destination wedding in Italy.

The celebrations began the evening before with a welcome dinner in the heart of Florence. Gathering everyone together before the wedding gave guests a chance to settle into the city, reconnect with friends and family, and soak up the atmosphere of Tuscany before the festivities began.

As the sun set over Florence, everyone enjoyed incredible Italian food, local wine, and the excitement of the wedding day ahead. It's a tradition I'm seeing more and more with destination weddings, and it's such a lovely way to extend the celebration while giving guests a memorable experience beyond the wedding itself.

This celebration at Villa Le Fontanelle took place during one of the most magical times of year; wisteria season. The cascading purple blooms framed the villa's gardens and terraces, adding an unforgettable backdrop to every part of the day without needing much else. It's one of those fleeting moments in Tuscany that makes a spring wedding feel especially unique.

One of my favourite parts of photographing weddings in Florence is the balance between editorial portraits and genuine moments. The surroundings naturally lend themselves to elegant imagery, while the relaxed pace of an Italian wedding day creates plenty of opportunities for candid photographs that feel authentic and effortless.
